 Mike Hopley Runs AutoFurbish, the Stockport-based Austin A30-35 parts supermarket and mail order service, The Autofurbish catalogue now runs to 52 pages covering body panels, trim, brightwork, electrical and mechanical parts, like many specialists, Mike's business started as a hobby.
Recalls Mike: 'We got to the stage where we needed a second car, and the A35 was the only one small enough to fit on the drive next to the other car,
'Nobody was really doing spares but I founded that once I had list of parts numbers it was easier to buy stock from BMC dealers. I began selling spares as a paid hobby, then went full time in 1990.'
As parts became more difficult to find, Mike started having things remanufactured . Now his company can supply virtually anything for these cars, either brand new, new-old-stock, reproduction, reconditioned or secondhand. |
